The Pentawards paid tribute to winning designs across five categories at a ceremony on September 29 at the Marriott Marquis in Manhattan. Brigitte Evrard, co-founder of the Pentawards, said there were nearly 1,000 entries from 51 countries for this fifth edition.

The Luxury Platinum award went to Harry Allen Design (USA) for the Bang perfume bottle for Marc Jacobs. The striking bottle also won a FiFi earlier this year for Best Packaging of the Year-Men’s Luxe. The form is digitally lifted from a piece of metal that Allen struck with a hammer in his studio.
 
Luxe Pack also gave a special prize for the best creation in the Luxury category, offering Harry Allen and the Bang bottle a stand at Luxe Pack Shanghai in April 2012.
